Guiding Young Minds

Why I Started Guide Academy Connecticut

My journey as an educator started over 15 years ago, but it wasn’t until 2014, during my Montessori Primary training, that I truly began to see children—and education—in a new light. I realized that teaching isn’t just about giving instructions; it’s about guiding children toward independence, respect, and a sense of peace in the world.

That vision deepened during my AMI Elementary training in 2023–24, where I embraced the idea of cosmic education: helping children understand their place in the world and their power to contribute to harmony and kindness.

Before Montessori became my passion, I followed a path in science. I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Irvine and a Master’s in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. I taught university labs, mentored students, and worked as a civil engineer in Los Angeles. Each experience taught me that curiosity, problem-solving, and persistence are as valuable in the classroom as they are in the lab.

Now, as a Montessori teacher and mom to a lively 3.5-year-old, Montessori comes alive every day. I see firsthand that values like honesty, kindness, respect, and peace aren’t just lessons—they are a way of life.

My hope for Guide Academy Connecticut is simple: to nurture compassionate, independent children who will carry these values into the world, helping to create a brighter, more peaceful future for everyone.
